Lieu de naissance : Banghak-dong, Dobong District, Séoul, Corée du Sud
Diplômé de l’Université de Dongguk en commerce et commerce international en 2009. Il a obtenu ensuite deux masters, Marketing, Trade Theory ainsi que Finance and Cultural Contents à la Dongguk Graduate School. Il a également obtenu un certificat en psychologie infantile pendant qu’il tournait l’émission Little Forest

Il a fréquenté Yoona du groupe féminin Girls’ Generation de 2013 à 2015
Le 24 mai 2021 Lee Seung Gi confirme sa relation avec Lee Da In
Le 17 février 2023 Lee Seung Gi annonce son mariage prochain avec Lee Da In, la cérémonie aura lieu le 7 avril 2023 au Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas Hotel de Gangnam à Séoul.
Service militaire :
Lee Seung Gi commence son service militaire le 01/02/2016, pour une durée de 21 mois. Il entre au Centre de recrutement et d’entrainement de Non dans Chungcheongnam-do en tant que soldat actif. Puis après 5 semaines d’entrainement il est affecté aux forces spéciales de l’armée de l’air. Il est nommé sergent le 30/06/2017 et finira son service le 31/10/2017.
Début de carrière : 5 juin 2004
Il a été découvert par Lee Sun Hee qui l’a repéré dans un théâtre en 2002, mais il a préféré poursuivre ses études pendant deux ans avant d’accepter de démarrer sa carrière de chanteur.
Lee Seung Gi devient très vite populaire en tant que chanteur grâce à son premier titre Because you are my girl obtenant le prix de la « Meilleure révélation » en 2004. Cette chanson racontant son amour pour une fille plus âgée, il attire en masse la faveur de femmes mures.

En juin 2021 Hook annonce que Lee Seung Gi avait mis fin à son contrat avec Hook Entertainment pour créer sa propre agence Human Made Entertainment. Ils signeront un contrat de collaboration qui prendra fin le 30 décembre 2022 après un litige entre Hook et Lee Seung Gi.
